Our Purpose and Promise
We care what goes into your kids' brains.
Comic books have become a big business in our culture. For those of us who grew up enjoying them, it's a great time to be alive!
But there are concerns, too. Many of the stories seem to be written for the same audience as 20+ years ago, but we're older now, and so the stories have become "older" too. The topics are more adult, there's more sexual content and excessive violence.
(Don't get us wrong, a certain amount of romance and action makes for a fun read!)
When the idea for the Called series came along, we knew what we had do.
We are called to serve.
The motto of the "Agency", the mysterious but beneficial group in Called, is "called to serve." (Just in case you can't read italics...)
As caring parents, we feel a responsibility not just to our children, but to yours. We want to provide entertainment without the bad influence, and even better, with a good influence.
And as Christians, we have a Calling ourselves, to spend our talents in God's service, by serving others.
Called is an expression of the creativity He's blessed us with and the caring He's put in our hearts.
Our promise
And so we make this promise:
Called will always honor God. Its Biblical basis will not be overt; we want this to serve as an outreach ministry, or even just a fun read that can inspire without being "preachy."
We will provide ministry tools to help parents and leaders use this in their ministry.
And we will never include content that challenges the Bible.
We may get crazy and creative at times... we have to have some fun too! But be assured that this project is bathed in prayer and supported by others we trust to keep us "between the rails."
